I must of been only around 6 years old when I saw the first one. I obviously had no idea what was going on or cared much about the actors, but even at the age of 6 I enjoyed it for what it was, a shoot'em up action movie.

This francise is pretty much what launched Bruce Willis's career, I personally loved all 4 of them. The writers and directors did a great job in incorporating humour into action and at the same time still made the movie insanely intense.

Bruce Willis's career has had it's ups and downs, but no matter how many movies he's done he'll always be known as John McClane from Die Hard, the lose cannon cop that always ends up saving the day.

When "Live Free or Die Hard" came out I was somewhat skeptical about it, and was wondering if Willi's can pull off another one at his age, and by gosh he definetly can. Live Free or Die Hard was just about as good as all the other die hard movie.

So recently I picked up the Ultimate Collector's set which includes all 4 movies with some very kick ass special features all in a 8 disc set. The set itself I have to admit was quite expensive but I thought it was totally worth it for me And honestly, being such a film fanatic I can spend all week just watching the special features.

This movie is a great stress reliver, I can always fit something like this into my busy work schedule.

well... back to movie...

back

wow it's been forever since I posted here.

don't know why I stopped, but I think it might because I got a job as a real critic and didn't have the time to make new entries. I'm still a critic but just not full time now. The last movie I critiqued was "Twilight", but I'm not going to talk about that here, if you want to read my review go check my facebook notes. To make things simple, I hated the movie. =)

What made me came back to this blog is the fact that I've been pretty impressed with the movies of Summer 2008. Where to start? let see:

Iron Man: Good movie, but I was somewhat dissapointed, There was too much hype surronding the movie so I went in there with very high expectations. Robert Downey jr. put on a great preformance as Tony Stark. I was glad that they put an actual villian (Iron Monger) from the comic books in there, I feel that one mistake a few superhero movie made was that they had no real villian, for example "The Punisher" with Thomas Jane didn't really work because The Punisher didn't have an enemy, they just put some random mob dude played by John Travolta in there. Another example would be "Superman Returns", Superman didn't really have an enemy, his enemy was some giant rock that for some reason took him over half an hour to lift. But enough about other superhero, back to Iron Man. The movie overall was good but I guess I was expecting more action. What made it dissapointing for me was that I realize Iron Man's suit was never at 100% in the movie, I mean come on, he went in to his last battle with Iron Monger at like what? 57%? Fans of the movie will be happy to know the sequel is already in the making. One extra thing, if you stayed to the end of the credits, there is a scene where Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) shows up to talk about "The Avenger's" short scene, but worth staying to the end.

The Incredible Hulk: Suprisingly enough, when I first saw this I enjoyed it more than Iron Man, probably because I went with lower expectations. I was so glad that they didn't follow up with the 2003 one with Eric Bana, I thought that movie was completely garbage. What made the 2003 one very bad was the fact that they made The Hulk look more like a villian than a hero. Ever realize in that movie the only thing The Hulk does is smashes things? the only heroic thing he did in that movie was save that Jet Fighter from crashing into the bridge. The other thing I found funny was that in the 2003 version, whenever The Hulk jumped, it took him forever to land, this isnt suprising since the director was the director of "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon". And again "The Hulk" didn't have a real enemy from the comic books.

The 2008 version of "The Hulk" beats the 2003 version in ALL aspects. And plus Edward Norton was a great choice. The action in this movie was actually done very well, and Tim Roth gave a good preformance as "The Abomination" (The Hulk's enemy from the comic books). props to the director Louis Leterrier (Transporter 1, Transporter 2, Unleashed) for the action sequences.

The Dark Knight: okay, if you haven't seen this movie, GO SEE IT!, if you haven't seen this movie, then you have no life. I cannot think of any negative thing to say about this movie except Maggie Gylenhaal, I personally didn't like her . Christian Bale which is one of my favourite actor was just amazing in this movie. Heath Ledger (The Joker) was even better. In some areas, I thought Heath was better than Jack Nicholson, but then I guess you can't really compare since it's different views on the joker.

There were some reviews saying the plot was hard to follow, I really didn't see how hard it can be since it's pretty much a good guy vs bad guy movie. This movie pretty much had everything that makes an action movie good. Plus I like how Christopher Nolan added a lot of darkness to the movie.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: This movie wasn't the greatest movie of the summer, and would say the worse out of the 4 Indiana Jones movie, but still entertaining. The plot was weak compare to the other Indiana Jones, but I felt the action and humour was well made. Harrison Ford's carrer hasn't been going anywhere lately, I think this must of been his best in recent years. This movie proved that Harrison Ford at the age of 66 still has something in him. The movie wasn't all that bad, it's worth checking out.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian: I went in this movie with again low expectations, and kept telling myself "I'm probably not gonna enjoy it since it's a kid's movie" but I did end up liking it, even though I hated "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" but I say Prince Caspin was a big improvement, espscially the battle scenes, I was kindda suprise how much some of the actors/actresses aged though.

This movie was another fun movie, I guess if you like fantasy movie with good battle scenes, this one is for you.

I think that's most of the hollywood movies I've seen in this summer, I might of missed some.

some movies I DO NOT recommand though is:

The Happening
Rightous Kill

and that's all I can think of..

until next time.

Ultraviolet

meh. haven't updated this in a while.. not because I haven't been watching movies.. just that I wasn't sure if anyone actually read my reviews, but someone told me that they did and asked me why I didn't update anymore...

anyways.. the latest movie I saw was "Ultraviolet" it's a decent movie.. great action but poor everything else.. lol... acting was bad, screenplay was bad, graphics were mediocre.. but great action though... if anyone is planning to watch this movie I recommand them to watch the movie "Equilibrium" first... by the same director.. that movie was better.. but this movie is still worth watching if you like those movies with senseless violence and nothing else.. haha.. I sure enjoyed this movie

Plot: et in the 21st century. a subculture of humans called Hemophages has emerged who have been genetically modified, giving them enhanced speed, incredible stamina and acute intelligence. To the governments's dismay, more and more of the population are being transformed, and they have set out to rid the world of this new subculture that they deem menaces to society. One rogue warrior is bent on protecting her race - and seeking revenge on those who changed her life forever. With fierce fighting skills and chameleon-like abilities, Violet (Milla Jovovich) sets out to destroy a governments-designed time bomb that will eliminate all Hemophages. To Violet's surprise, the deadly device is a nine-year-old boy, who was raised in a laboratory and goes by the name Six (Cameron Bright).

Sin City ( Recut, Extended)

this is probably one of my favourite movies of all time. It's violent, it's got a very dark storyline, and very big names like Bruce Willis, Jessical Alba, Elijah Woods, and a lot more.. the blood was awesome. and the action was just hardcore.. way better than the theatrical version. I could watch this over and over again..I would really recommand this if you're an action fan.

plot: A collection of interweaving stories all based in the corrupt, crime infested hell-hole that is Basin City. Heavily influenced by film-noir, the main storylines concern a hulking brute called Marv (Mickey Rourke), who is seeking the murderer of a beautiful woman who was killed while asleep in bed with him; an ex-photographer called Dwight (Clive Owen) who accidentally kills a hero cop and has to cover it up; and a soon-to-be-retiring policeman called Hartigan (Bruce Willis) who is incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit. All based on the brilliant graphic novels "Sin City", "The Big Fat Kill" and "That Yellow Bastard", written and illustrated by Frank Miller.

Infection

Another horror movie.. yep... this one was very creepy too... it' from the makers of "The Grudge"... I hate watching horror movies by myself but everyone told me this movie was good, and they weren't lying cuz it was good.. but just sitting alone in the dark at my dorm watching this was just hard to handle.. hahaha... where is Sophy when you need her to sit through a horror movie with you? lol...

anyways, If you like horror movies this one is excellent.. I say that for a lot of movies but this one stands out a lot.. I wouldn't be surprise if Hollywood does a remake... it is that good. It gets hard to understand at times but the dark eviroment and the characters makes the movie very creepy.

plot: 'Kansen' means Infection and the story revolves around a strange little hospital with weird patients and even weirder staff. Part 1 of 6 J-Horror Films. The 15-year-old confessed: "I have a collection of about 20 in my room. People think I need to be guided."

Clem's Opinion: Ok, first thing's is first, I don't hate christians. I am a christian myself.. but seriously I think some people really needs to chill out. I mean what is your problem? just because this movie talks about people with magic it is considered "evil"? I swear some people take things too extremely. I don't see anything about the movie "Harry Potter" that can be anti-christ. I think this is just another family movie which everyone can enjoy.

what's more is, how do you people know that Emma Watson needs guidence? by sending her all those bibles you're actually causing her more stress than helping her. you're basically forcing her to be christian, which doesn't work at all. I don't think Emma watson has done anything wrong, the kid has a good future ahead of her and she doesn't need all these christian frantics bugging her all the time

I have met Emma Watson twice. Once at the sci-fi convention and once at the Toronto Film Festival... spoke to her twice. and I don't find anything satantic about her. Emma Watson could be one of the most nicest person in the world and to my knowledge she doesn't need guidence at all.

as for the people that thinks this movie is anti-christ, GET A CLUE!!!! there isn't one part in the whole Harry Potter series that says "Trust in Satan" or anything.... everything is done with special effects, the movie doesn't really have much of a msg to it. Yeah it's got a little "magic" in it, but doesn't all sci-fi movies? so what? now you're going to try to ban all sci-fi movies?

Enough said.

Is Latest Potter Film Posted Online?

it remained unclear Monday whether Internet pirates had succeeded in breaching Warner Bros.' elaborate security defenses and posted copies of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Prior to the release of the earlier installments, there were numerous reports about poor-quality copies being posted online. Forbes magazine reported Monday that it had found 1,500 AVI and 500 MPEG versions of the movie available for download on peer-to-peer file-sharing sites. Nevertheless, a spokesman for Warner Bros. told the magazine, "We are 100% sure that these files you have found are not going to be of the Harry Potter film" -- a statement that suggests that the studio itself may have posted decoys in an effort to confuse -- or perhaps even trap -- illegal downloaders.

Man Shot Dead After 50 Cent Movie Screening

A man has died after being shot following a US screening of the controversial 50 Cent movie Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. I hate watching horror movies alone, but then I love watching movies just in general... and everybody told me this movie was good. and they were right. I love asian horror films a lot better than hollywood horror films. Hollywood horror films contains more of special effects and very loud sounds. Jap horror films scares you psychologically.. and this movie just gives you the creeps. I actually had to stop watching for a few minutes cuz my heart was pounding so hard I thought I was going to faint. hahahaha.. but yeah... this film was actually quite creepy.. but at the same time I loved it. it has been announced that Hollywood is making a remake of this movie.. I hope they won't mess it up... but usually originals are better.

plot: People mysteriously start receiving voicemail messages from their future selves, in the form of the sound of them reacting to their own violent deaths, along with the exact date and time of their future death, listed on the message log. There was one scene that wasn't shown in theatres where Jet Li grabbed someone by the balls and then threw them against a wall.. eww... and there was this other scene where Jet Li bit someone's nipple off and then spat it on the ground...... BLOODY HELL!!! all action fans and Jet Li fans must watch this movie... GREAT MOVIE!!!

plot: This is the story of Danny, a slave who has lived his whole life without any sort of normal human education, with the mind and personality of a young child, with only one lesson learned: how to fight. In fact, I think this is one of thse greatest horror movies I've ever seen. The acting and all that wasn't that good but everything about it was awesome. The Gore, the story, the pace, and the directing. This is amazingly good for a low budget film. In fact this film was actually made by a bunch of Film students that just came out of graduation, and wow it was great!!

*Spoilers* I don't know any other way to tell you guys how much gore and how disturbing the gore is, but there is once scene were this guy's leg is chained into a pipe on the wall and in order to get out he literally used a hacksaw and cut his own leg off, and you can see every part of it.. his leg coming off and all the blood gushing out.... ewwww... when I saw this at the festival my legs were like numb.

With this unrated Edition 2 disc DVD the features make the movie even more intresting. and the Unrated version makes a lot more sense too. I would recommand everyone to see this movie. even if you're not a horror fan you should see this movie.

plot: Adam (Leigh Whannell) and Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes) wake up chained to pipes at opposite ends of a dirty utility room. The movie spent too much time doing character development.. not enough action, and the action sucked.. Jennifer Garner can't fight. I mean she was so much better in the movie Daredevil but this one sucked so bad.. even the director's cut couldn't save the movie. Argh... I want my money and time back... the only good thing about this movie was seeing Jennifer Garner in her bra.. hahaha

plot: Jennifer Garner returns as Elektra, a lethal synthesis of grace and power with the mystical power known as Kimagure: a limited ability to see the future. It hurts me to pee, and it causes me to be short with my family. I can't sleep at night. The other day, I stubbed my toe and took it out on the dog. And two weeks ago, I ran out of vanilla ice cream and struck my wife. Then I find out my wife's been dead for six years. Who the hell did I hit"?

plot: Stewie, the maniacal baby genius, is distracted from his plans for world domination when he sees a man who looks just like him on television. Convinced that this man must be his real father (after all, how could he possibly share genetic material with the dimwitted Peter?), Stewie sets off on a cross-country road trip to find him. But his incredible journey leads him to discoveries far more vile and shocking than anything found in his diaper.

The Fog

meh... what can I say? it's a remake... I actually saw the old one before I saw this.... for the special effects, this new modern one was obviously a lot better, but the old one overall was a bit better. They changed a lot of things around. I'm not going to says what because that'll just spoil it for the people who are still planning to watch it. However I will say that the ending for the original one was way better than this one. and now I've said too much... hahahha

It makes you jump, that's a bout it. but I think you'll probably get over it after you leave the theatres.

The Transporter, Final Destination, Bulletproof Monk, Dirty Harry, Amityville Horror, Final Destination 2.

yep, I actually watched all those movies today. I actually saw parts of this movie when I was on the plane... However it was like 5:00am in the morning and I fell asleep. So I was at pacific mall today, and I was just browsing through the DVDs and I saw this one. I'm like.. hey, I saw parts of this movie, maybe I'll get it just to see how the whole movie is. So that's what I did.

Seriously, I didn't expect much from this movie, the fact that the director Tsui Hark has kindda lost his magic in film. When I poped this DVD in and started watching, it was a surpise to me, I actually thought it was pretty good. It was kindda slow in the beggining but the story builds up and the fights get better. It's all worth it for the fight at the end. The Story itself is pretty good as well as the acting too. I think this movie was way better than "Hero" and "House of flying Daggers".

For people who likes to watch chinese history stuff and good sword fights.. this is defeinetly your film.

plot: n the early 1600's, the Manchurians have taken over sovereignty of China and established the Ching Dynasty. While many nationalist revolts still brew within the martial artists' community, the newly set-up government immediately imposes a Martial Arts Ban, forbidding the practice of martial arts altogether in order to gain control and order. Wind Fire (Sun Hong-Lei), a surrendered military official from the previous dynasty, sees this as an opportunity to make a fortune for himself by helping to execute the new law. Greedy, cruel, and immoral, Wind Fire ravages the North-western China, and his next goal is to attack the final frontier, Martial Village. Fu Qingzhu, a retired executioner from the previous dynasty, feels the need to put a stop to this brutality and sets out to save Bowei Fortress. He brings Wu Yuanyin and Han Zhiban from the village with him to Mount Heaven to seek help from Master Shadow-Glow, a hermit who is a master of swords and leads a group of disciples of great swordsmanship. Master Shadow-Glow agrees to help, and orders four of his best disciples to go. Together with Chu Zhaonan, Yang Yunchong, Mulong, and Xin Longzi, the SEVEN SWORDS is formed and their heroic journey begins. As they lead the entire village to the road of a safer place, they begin to encounter mysterious confusion. Food and water is poisoned, and trails of escape are marked with signs leading the enemy to them. They soon realize that there is an undercover spy, and the SEVEN SWORDS must identify him/her before Wind Fire's army gets to them. Between this narrow gap of life and death, the situation is further complicated by the blossoms of love.

The Hunt for Red October

This was another good suspense/action movie with Sean Conery, but I decided to watch this movie because it was writtin by one of my favourite authours Tom Clancy, when it comes to war or just military stories, Tom Clancy knows how to make it sound good. This was actually my first Tom Clancy movie... I read most of this books including "The Hunt for Red October" I just didn't watch the movie until now because I didn't expect much of it.. books are always bette. but boy, was I wrong.. well kindda wrong... the books are still better but the movie is still enjoyable.

if you like Submarines and missles and all that, you'll love this movie.. I know I sure did.

plot: Sean Connery stars with Alec Baldwin in John McTiernan's blockbuster The Hunt For Red October. Connery plays Marko Ramius, a senior Russian sub captain whose plans to defect are met with strong opposition by his own Soviet navy, and American misconceptions of his intentions. Baldwin plays CIA analyst Jack Ryan, the one man who sees the defection, and must convince most of the American navy he is correct. The action climaxes with an amazing naval battle, but who will win The Hunt for Red October?

Carlito's Way

This movie is truly a classic... good story, great acting, and great action.... pretty much everything you need to get a good gangster movie... Al Pacino is a great actor... this movie was one of the best gangster movies I ever seen since Scarface... Note: this movie was directed by the same guy who directed Scarface.

It wasn't as bloody as most of the action movies I've seen, but It didn't really need it, and there's a good msg in the movie too... the tagline is pretty much "bad guys never win"... I would really recommand this movie to all action fans.

plot: A Puerto Rican ex-con pledges to stay away from his former drug dealing ways but finds himself being dragged back by his past connections and the naive machinations of his lawyer and best friend. Hoping to raise enough money to get away from New York, Carlito Brigante takes on the job of running a nightclub, renews an affair with a dancer but old associates and old instincts suck him back into a world of violence and mistrust.

Cry Wolf

In my opinion this movie wasn't that great. I mean, I thought the storyline was bizzare and smart at the same time.. but everything about the movie was way too predictible. The acting wasn't all that great either... I mean the only one that did some decent acting was the rock star Bon Jovi, who plays the professor in this movie.

This movie could of been a lot better, but actually I didn't expect much from a horror movie that's rated PG. The ending pretty muched destroyed the movie... yeah that's the thing about Horror movies, it's always the ending that messes it up.

I'm not saying that all PG horror movies are bad, there are a few good ones like "The Ring" and "The Grudge" but this wasn't what I expected. This is more of a teen horror movie thing. I mean in the teather I saw a few kids that were probably not even 12 yet.

If you're a horror fan, I would recommand you to stay away from this one. It's not really scary at all.. there are a few scene that'll maybe make you jump, but nothing really speical. I would stick to my rated "R" horror movies.

plot: Nobody believes a liar - even when they're telling the truth. When a young woman is found murdered, a group of local high school students decide to further scare their classmates by spreading online rumors that a serial killer called "The Wolf" is on the loose. By describing "The Wolf's" next victims, the students' game is to see how many people they can convince - and if anyone will uncover the lie. But when the described victims actually do start turning up dead, suddenly no one knows where the lies end and the truth begins. As someone or something begins hunting the students themselves, the game turns terrifyingly real.

Constantine

I've actually seen this movie once before, it was so good I just had to see it again.. and the second time was a bit better cuz I understand it a little more. The acting from Keaunu Reeves was just horrible but everything else about the movie was excellent.

I like the fact that they had a lot of bible related stuff in this movie. They gave out a message that you cannot buy your way into heaven, the only way you can go to heaven is by trusting in God and believing in him. The only thing that kindda annoyed me was that Satan appeared in this movie but God didn't. However this movie pretty much talked about God and Satan. so why no God? even the arch-angel Gabriel appeared.

This movie pretty much had it all. Action, Suspense, horror, and a bit of comedy. I would probably give this movie 8.5 out of 10 stars.

Plot: John Constantine is the Exorcist who has been to hell and back, and who's soul is sentenced to hell. He has been deporting demons to get on good terms with God, yet God wants self sacrifice. After the mysterious suicide of a cops twin, Angela goes out in search of the truth. Together, Constantine and Angela battle the Demons on earth.

Belly of the Beast

This is probably the only Steven Segal movie worth watching. hahaha.. yeah all his movies suck so far except this one. To be honest, I like Steven Segal as a martial artists but his movies aren't that great. This is guy has surpassed the 5th degree black belt in Aikido. However, you can't really blame him.. aikido doesn't really look that good on camera. Not like Kung Fu, Karate, Kickboxing, or Capoeira. Make no mistake though, you wouldn't want to piss off and attack someone that's well trained in Aikido.. they can be very deadly.

This movie had great action, I mean like Hong Kong action, it's also directed by a very famous Hong Kong martial artist, Ching Siu Tung. If you're a fan of action movies, you'll love this movie. This movie actually makes Aikido look good. I say this is like the Steven Segal version of "Ong Bak". There isnt' really much of a story to it, but it doesn't need one.. you can just enjoy it for the action.

plot: An ex-CIA agent's quest to find his kidnapped daughter leads him on a trail of political intrigue, corruption, danger and betrayal; he will stop at nothing to save her

The Ring Two

This movie wasn't as good as the first one . In fact, it wasn't that good at all. I mean it had some errie parts to it, but mostly just stuff that makes you jump (loud sound effects, creepy noises, creepy images and stuff like that. Yeah the story of the movie was creepy but then a lot of stuff was too predictable, and a lot of stuff was very repetitive, like when the people die and their face is all rotted and messed up, now the first time when I saw that which was in The Ring 1, the girl in the closet creeped me out so bad. However in this movie they just kept using that same image over and over again.

as a horror fan, I wouldn't say this is the best, but it's worth watching once I guess. However beofre you watch this one you should really watch the first one first. It'll make a lot more sense and the story will be a bit more interesting.

Keep in mind that the girl who plays the ghost "Samara" is the girl who does the voice for Lilo in the movie "Lilo and Stich".

Plot: Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) and her son Aidan (David Dorfman) have relocated to the quaint mountain town of Astoria, Oregon, where Rachel has found a new job at the local Astoria Gazette, working alongside reporter David Rourke (Simon Baker). The discovery of a local teenage homicide whilst scanning the electronic Astoria Police archives prompts Rachel to uncover the truth behind it. Before long, Rachel has linked the homicide to the mysterious video tape. When Rachel is within reach of uncovering the secret, she finds and then destroys the killer videotape. Bad move. Soon after, Aidan is hospitalized; unconscious, perilously cold, and bruised. Rachel suspects this is the act of the vengeful ghost Samara Morgan, but the local physician, Dr. Emma Temple, suspects otherwise. Having being blamed for child abuse and looking guilty as sin, Rachel returns to Seattle to dig deeper into the past of the ghostly Samara who is apparently trying to re-enter corporeal existence by using Aidan as a conduit/host. Will the secrets Rachel uncovers solve problems, or will they end more lives?

Minority Report

This is the first time Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg worked together I think. They're second time was of course another good movie called "War of the Worlds".

Wow.. I never knew Spielberg could make such a great action movie, usually his styles are War or Alien stuff. Rarely this kind of movie. This not only had a very interesting storyline about the future but also action packed. I would really recommand action fans to see this one if you haven't.

I really like movies that talk about the future.... maybe in the future it could be like this movie... where you can predict a crime before it happens and prevent it... now wouldn't that be a nice change for the world? A crime free place.

Plot: In the year 2054, a so-called "pre-crime division" is working around Washington, DC. Its purpose is to use the precog(nitive) potential of three genetically altered humans to prevent murders. When the three precogs, who only work together, floating connected in a tank of fluid, have a vision, the names of the victim and the perpetrator as well as video imagery of the crime and the exact time it will happen, are given out to the special cops who then try to prevent the crime from happening. But there is a political dilemma: If someone is arrested before he commits a murder, can the person be accused of the murder, which - because of the arrest - never took place? The project of pre-crime, at the time being in a state of trial run, is going to be voted about in the near future. If people accept it, the crime rate is going to drop drastically, but it never will be known if there might not be too many people imprisoned, some or even all of them innocent. After John Anderton lost his son to a crime a six years ago, he took up drugs, and works the precog division like nobody else. One day, his own name arrives in the "perpetrator" chute, and the precogs predict that he will kill a man he never knew in less than 36 hours. John takes off, his trust in the system diminishing rapidly. His own colleagues after him, John follows a very small trace that might hold the key to his innocence, a strange unsolved yet predicted murder and a so-called "minority report", a documentation of one of the rare events in which a precog sees something different than the other two.

Paycheck

So Clem just can't get enough of his movies, so I've decided to watch another one the very same day I watched "The Terminal".. I decided to watch the movie "Paycheck"

well... to tell you the truth, for an action movie, it wasn't that great. They did have a very interesting story, but this time the action just didn't help the movie a bit. It's directed by John Woo , one of the greatest action movie director when it comes to guns. This movie however had very little action and very little guns. The only thing I liked about this movie was the explosion at the end. John Woo could do a lot better, but for some reason he didn't live up to the movie this time. As well as Ben Affleck.

I would advice John Woo's fans to stay away from this one. In my opinion the best John Woo films right now are "Hardboiled", "The Killer", "A better Tomorrow", "face/off" and "Mission: Impossible 2"

I'll put the plot down for anyone who plans to see it. I agree that the story is interesting, but the action just sucked.

Plot: Jennings (Ben Afleck) is the best reverse-engineer in the business. He is hired by clients to take apart other companies technologies and find out how they work. He is hired to do a special job, against the advice of some of his associates. When the job is completed, all memory of what he has been working on is ereased from his mind. That's when his problem really start to begin. He is hunted for something he has no recollection of doing and has only a little time to work it out. He has sent himself 19 seemingly unconnected objects, before his memory was wiped, to allow him to put the puzzle together and discover just what has gone on and what he has done. But the authorities are after him and time is very quickly running out.

The Terminal

so I've decided to pick out another old movie to watch again, and this time it was "The Terminal" with Tom Hanks and Cathrine Zeta-Jones.directed by Steven Spielberg

this movie had some pretty good acting by Tom Hanks, and of course very good directing and cinematography by one of the greatest directors in the world Steven Spielberg. However I gotta say this isn't really my kind of movie so my review might not be as helpful as the other ones this time.

Don't get me wrong. This movie is pretty good, but it just doesn't seem like Steven Spielberg's work. I expect Spielberg to do stuff like War and Alien movies and all that. This was very unexpected. This movie is quite funny actually, there a lot of funny jokes and just for laugh comedy in it. The Romance makes the movie a bit more interesting too.

Plot: Viktor Navorski, a man from an Eastern European country arrives in New York but after he left his country; war broke out and because of that Navorski is a man without a country that the U.S. can recognize, thus he is denied entrance to the U.S. However, he also can't be deported so he is told by the Security Manager that he has to remain in the airport until his status can be fixed. And also Navorski doesn't speak English well, so noone can talk to him and he can't talk to anyone. But he somehow adapts and sets up residence in the airport, which makes the man who placed him there unhappy cause, it seems he is line for a promotion but Navroski's presence might complicate that. So he tries to get Navorski to leave but Navorski remains where he is. Navorski makes friends with some of the people who work in the airport and is attracted to a flight attendant he runs into whenever she comes in.

Mission: Impossible 2/ Intro to Mission:Impossible 3

so I was looking through my DVD/VCD collection just to see how much movies I've collected up to date, and I believe I counted 1138, I was actually surprise that I had that much movies. As I was counting I saw my Mission: Impossible 2 DVD, and I realized that I haven't seen this film in a while, so I decided to pop it in my DVD player and watch it.

I have read reviews , and people say that Mission: Impossible 2 wasn't as good as the first one, however in my opinion this was way better than the first one. It is just the fact that this movie starts off very slow and it's a bit boring for the first half, but it's all worth it for the action at the end. I never knew Tom Cruise could fight like that, it was probably a stuntman or something but still, they managed to make the fights and the gun scenes look very stylish. It's what diretor John Woo is about, great gun action. I don't know who the stunt and fight director was but they were excellent as well.

plot: IMF agent Ethan Hunt has been sent on a mission to retrieve and destroy the supply of a genetically created disease called 'Chimera'. His mission is made impossible due to the fact that he is not the only person after samples of the disease. He must also contest with a gang of international terrorists headed by a turned bad former IMF agent who has already managed to steal the cure called 'Bellerophon' and now need 'Chimera' to complete their grand plan of infecting the whole world. In order to infiltrate and locate the terrorist group he relies on the help of an international thief Nyah of whom he quickly develops a love interest. Time is not only running out for Agent Hunt to find and destroy 'Chimera' before the terrorists get their hands on it, but he must also find 'Bellerophon' so as to save his love interest who has already become infected by the disease from a terrible and rapid death.

for those of you who are Mission Impossible fans, or just a Tom Cruise fan, you'll be happy to know that Mission: Impossible 3 is on it's way and filming right now. My sources tell me that the movie should be in theatres around May 5th or May 6th 2006. Unfortunetly I have not yet been able to to find out what the plot is. People will just have to wait I guess. I will post down the plot as soon as I can find it

The Exorcism of Emily Rose

wow... haven't updated in a while. I went to Hong Kong and then when I came back I forgot that I had blogger. hahaha.

anyways. The lastest movie I've seen was "The Exorcism of Emily Rose". I thought this movie was better than all the other exorcist but in a way you can't really compare it to the first original exorcist because that was considered a "classic". The Exorcism of Emily Rose over all was a very good movie.

There horror movies that make people jump and shocked while watching it in the theatre but when you leave the theatre you'll wonder why you were so scared. Then, there are horror movies that just gives you the creeps even as you leave the theatre and when you sleep at night. I say this movie was psychologically scary, and the fact that it was based on a true story makes it even more scarier.

doesn't really matter if you're catholic, christians, muslim, hindu or even atheous. Exorcism is very real. I can see how people would doubt it and call it a myth or what not, because it's just one of those things you have to see for yourself...

I have seen priests preform an exorcism in real life, and I have to say it's nothing like the movies but it's close enough. I've seen it once and I hope I never have to see it again.

all I can say is stay away from Ouija Boards, or anything that might welcome Satan to this world.

this movie is actually based on the story of a girl named Anneliese Michel, they changed the name to Emily Rose to avoid lawsuits.

plot: A bitter and repressed single lawyer (Laura Linney) takes on the church and the state when she fights for the life of a priest who performed a deadly exorcism on a young woman. Linney must battle the cocky state lawyer as well as her own lonliness, as she realizes that her career so far has not fulfilled her, nor is she happy in her job on a day to day basis.

The Skeleton Key

Good Gosh!! I went to see this movie because I heard from the critics they were saying "Best Thriller of the year", oh man, this movie SUCKED... wasn't scary at all. who ever said it was the best thriller of the year must have very bad taste for movies.. ewww... I want my money back.... Horror fans, stay away from this one!!

plot: Caroline (Kate Hudson) is a twenty-five-year-old hospice worker who cares for the ailing and the elderly, a job designed to atone for her own mistake for ignoring her dying father in the past, when she had been a rock 'n' roll manager. After her latest charge passes away, Caroline takes a job in Louisiana, caring for Ben (John Hurt), a stroke-victim who is bed-ridden and cannot speak. But Caroline becomes suspicious of the house, and Luke's cold wife, Violet (Gena Rowlands) only adds to the creepy atmosphere. After acquiring a skeleton key, Caroline makes her way into a secret room within the attic where she discovers hair, blood, bones, spells, and other instruments for practicing voodoo. Violet says she has never been in the secret room, but that the items probably belonged to the original owners' two houseworkers, who practiced black magic and were lynched as a result. Noting that Ben had his stroke in the attic after entering the room, Caroline is determined to unlock the secrets of the house, and rescue Ben from the horrors that hold him captive within.

Russell Crowe

This is a perfect example of how a tabloid can take a reality and turn it into a lie for the sake of making Russ look like a vilian.

On the Gladiator DVD commentary with Russ and Ridley, Russell joked about how killing off Maximus cost lots of money because they could be on Gladiator 10 by now. A total joke.. in reality, Russ thought it was better to kill Maximus off and Russ isn't one to do sequels for the sake of cashing in.

The bit about the joke has been making the tabloid rounds, and ContactMusic.com decided to put a very malicious and damaging spin on it:

CROWE BLASTS SCOTT FOR KILLING MAXIMUS

RUSSELL CROWE

Hollywood hardman RUSSELL CROWE has furiously attacked director RIDLEY SCOTT for killing off his GLADIATOR character MAXIMUS - because he's convinced they could have made a fortune from sequels to the epic movie.

The Australian hunk won an Oscar for his role as a Roman general who is betrayed by a jealous prince and returns to Rome as a gladiator to seek revenge.

But he's devastated Scott ended his dreams of turning the story into a lucrative film franchise, with his last-minute decision to kill Crowe's character at the end of the Academy Award-winning movie.

Crowe complains, "It's cost us hundreds of millions. Great idea mate. The first one was kindda boring, however it had a lot of gore and blood in it. I didn't really expect much of "The Devil's Rejects" since the first one wasn't all that great, but wow was I ever wrong to ever judge this movie before watching it, this movie was so much better than the first one. One of the main reasons why I watched this movie was because it was written and directed by Rob Zombie (One of the greatest metal rockers of the 80s and 90s) and for those of you who know Rob Zombie he is a very scary and disturbing guy, but this movie he created was just amazing... if you're fan of horror or just like to watch a lot of violence I really suggest you see this movie, you won't be dissapointed.

plot outline: Sequel to 'House of 1000 Corpses' is set some months later with the Texas State Police making a full-scale attack against the murderous Firefly family residence for the 1,000+ murders and disappearances of the past several years. But three of the family members escape, including Otis, Baby Firefly and Baby's father Captain Spaulding. The evil trio go on a road trip, leaving dozens of mangled bodies in their wake. Evading a massive Texas Rangers dragnet as well as a group of equally murderous bounty hunters led by Ken Dwyer (the brother of a policeman Otis killed in 'House of...') who's obsessed with finding the deadly killers, the surviving Firefly clan gather at a run-down amusement park owned by Captain Spaulding's half-brother, Charlie Altamont, whom offers them shelter and a new base of operations for their killing spree as Sheriff Dwyer, the Texas Rangers, the FBI and others slowly close in.

Alexander (Director's Cut)

The first time I saw Alexander was in the theatres, and good gosh, it was SO BORRRRING, I thought it was going to be amazing since Oliver Stone was the director, I almost fell asleep.

So I just recently bought the "Director's Cut" of this DVD thinking it'll be better but it was pretty much the same, the fights were a lot bloodier and there were some scenes that were not shown in theatres but overall this movie was really boring. I mean the storyline was amazing but it lacked action, I mean this is Alexander the Great we're talking about here, one of the greatest warriors ever lived, and yet the whole movie is pretty much all talking and travelling with only a couple fight scenes, If you like ancient hisotry, then you'll like this film, however if you're looking for war or good action then I suggest you stay away from this one.

Plot Outline: Conquering 90% of the known world by the age of 25, Alexander the Great (Farrell) led his armies through 22,000 miles of sieges and conquests in just eight years. Coming out of tiny Macedonia, Alexander led his armies against the mighty Persian Empire, drove west to Egypt, and finally made his way east to India. This film will concentrate on those eight years of battles, as well as his relationship with his boyhood friend and battle mate, Hephaestion. Alexander died young, of illness, at 33. Alexander's conquests paved the way for the spread of Greek culture (facilitating the spread of Christianity centuries later), and removed many of the obstacles that might have prevented the expansion of the Roman Empire. In other words, the world we know today might never have been if not for Alexander's bloody, yet unifying, conquest.

Trivia: Colin Farrell sprained his ankle after falling down a stairway while filming

Introduction/ The Island

I created this blog just to talk about movies and Hollywood news. This isn't really my personal Journal update.

anyways, I'll start talking about movies now. The most recent movie I saw was "The Island", this was a very good movie, however very long, but definetly awesome. It pretty much has almost everything an action movie fan wants to see. Fights, Guns, Car Chases, and lots of suspense. I thought scarlett Johansson was really hot in this movie and then I found out she was only 1 year older than I am.. she looks a lot older in this movie. The acting is so-so but overall this was a great movie.

Plot: Lincoln Six-Echo (McGregor) is a resident of a seemingly utopian but contained facility in the mid 21st century. Like all of the inhabitants of this carefully controlled environment, Lincoln hopes to be chosen to go to the "The Island" - reportedly the last uncontaminated spot on the planet. But Lincoln soon discovers that everything about his existence is a lie. He and all of the other inhabitants of the facility are actually human clones whose only purpose is to provide "spare parts" for their original human counterparts. Realizing it is only a matter of time before he is "harvested," Lincoln makes a daring escape with a beautiful fellow resident named Jordan Two-Delta (Johansson). Relentlessly pursued by the forces of the sinister institute that once housed them, Lincoln and Jordan engage in a race for their lives to literally meet their makers.

Trivia: This is the first Michael Bay film not produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
