Unleashed (Extreme Version)

I first saw this in the theatre, this is actually by far one of Jet Li's greatest movie. The fights were awesome, the story, the acting, the directing was just amazing. I enjoyed it in the theatre so much I just had to get the Extreme Version on DVD.. and it was even better.. a lot more bloodier. There was one scene that wasn't shown in theatres where Jet Li grabbed someone by the balls and then threw them against a wall.. eww... and there was this other scene where Jet Li bit someone's nipple off and then spat it on the ground...... BLOODY HELL!!! all action fans and Jet Li fans must watch this movie... GREAT MOVIE!!!

plot: This is the story of Danny, a slave who has lived his whole life without any sort of normal human education, with the mind and personality of a young child, with only one lesson learned: how to fight. Treated like a dog by his owner/boss, Bart which includes having to wear a collar, Danny has been raised to be a lethal fighting machine who fights in illegal gladiator-style fight clubs, where he earns lots of money for Bart as the undisputed champion. After a car accident that lands Bart in a coma, however, Danny meets a kind elderly blind piano tuner on the run because he knows secrets some bad guys don't want known, who uses music to teach Danny some things about the world and about being human...

SAW 2

This movie actually wasn't as good as the first one... still worth watching but not nearly as good as the first one. It had some boring parts to it but It builts up. There was a hell lot of gore... some were very very very nasty. and yes, there was blood.... blood turns me on... LOL.... j/k but yeah if you're a fan of horror/thriller movies this one is for you... very smart and suprising... but the first one is still better.

plot: Jigsaw locks a few unlucky people in a booby trapped shelter and they must find a way out before they inhale too much of a lethal nerve gas and die. But they must watch out, for the traps Jigsaw has set in the shelter lead to death also

SAW (Unrated Edition)

I saw this movie at the film festival... this movie is horror, but it's not supernatrual horror, but it's still scary as hell. In fact, I think this is one of thse greatest horror movies I've ever seen. The acting and all that wasn't that good but everything about it was awesome. The Gore, the story, the pace, and the directing. This is amazingly good for a low budget film. In fact this film was actually made by a bunch of Film students that just came out of graduation, and wow it was great!!

*Spoilers* I don't know any other way to tell you guys how much gore and how disturbing the gore is, but there is once scene were this guy's leg is chained into a pipe on the wall and in order to get out he literally used a hacksaw and cut his own leg off, and you can see every part of it.. his leg coming off and all the blood gushing out.... ewwww... when I saw this at the festival my legs were like numb.

With this unrated Edition 2 disc DVD the features make the movie even more intresting. and the Unrated version makes a lot more sense too. I would recommand everyone to see this movie. even if you're not a horror fan you should see this movie.

plot: Adam (Leigh Whannell) and Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes) wake up chained to pipes at opposite ends of a dirty utility room. They soon learn that they have become the victims of the Jigsaw, a serial killer who devises intricate situations to get his victims to kill each other. Pitted against the clock and each other, the two must work to outwit their captor and save Gordon's family, who have been taken hostage by the killer.

Elektra (Director's Cut)

Oh my goodness, this was seriously the worst and most boring movie ever made from Marvel.. the comic books are so much better. The movie spent too much time doing character development.. not enough action, and the action sucked.. Jennifer Garner can't fight. I mean she was so much better in the movie Daredevil but this one sucked so bad.. even the director's cut couldn't save the movie. Argh... I want my money and time back... the only good thing about this movie was seeing Jennifer Garner in her bra.. hahaha

plot: Jennifer Garner returns as Elektra, a lethal synthesis of grace and power with the mystical power known as Kimagure: a limited ability to see the future. She has purposefully severed all ties with the world and lives only for her next assignment. Elektra's latest job forces her to make a decision that can take her life in a whole new direction or destroy her.

Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story

this has gotta be one of the funniest cartoons I've ever seen.... this wasn't like the TV series though. it contained a lot more profanity and a lot of crudge jokes.. but it was still funny.. if you like to laugh this movie is for you.

Quote from the movie: "Hi, I'm Wilfred Brimley, and I have diabetes. It hurts me to pee, and it causes me to be short with my family. I can't sleep at night. The other day, I stubbed my toe and took it out on the dog. And two weeks ago, I ran out of vanilla ice cream and struck my wife. Then I find out my wife's been dead for six years. Who the hell did I hit"?

plot: Stewie, the maniacal baby genius, is distracted from his plans for world domination when he sees a man who looks just like him on television. Convinced that this man must be his real father (after all, how could he possibly share genetic material with the dimwitted Peter?), Stewie sets off on a cross-country road trip to find him. But his incredible journey leads him to discoveries far more vile and shocking than anything found in his diaper.

The Fog

meh... what can I say? it's a remake... I actually saw the old one before I saw this.... for the special effects, this new modern one was obviously a lot better, but the old one overall was a bit better. They changed a lot of things around. I'm not going to says what because that'll just spoil it for the people who are still planning to watch it. However I will say that the ending for the original one was way better than this one. and now I've said too much... hahahha

It makes you jump, that's a bout it. but I think you'll probably get over it after you leave the theatres.

Seven Swords

I think this is the first chinese movie on my blog that I am making a review out of.. I actually saw parts of this movie when I was on the plane... However it was like 5:00am in the morning and I fell asleep. So I was at pacific mall today, and I was just browsing through the DVDs and I saw this one. I'm like.. hey, I saw parts of this movie, maybe I'll get it just to see how the whole movie is. So that's what I did.

Seriously, I didn't expect much from this movie, the fact that the director Tsui Hark has kindda lost his magic in film. When I poped this DVD in and started watching, it was a surpise to me, I actually thought it was pretty good. It was kindda slow in the beggining but the story builds up and the fights get better. It's all worth it for the fight at the end. The Story itself is pretty good as well as the acting too. I think this movie was way better than "Hero" and "House of flying Daggers".

For people who likes to watch chinese history stuff and good sword fights.. this is defeinetly your film.

plot: n the early 1600's, the Manchurians have taken over sovereignty of China and established the Ching Dynasty. While many nationalist revolts still brew within the martial artists' community, the newly set-up government immediately imposes a Martial Arts Ban, forbidding the practice of martial arts altogether in order to gain control and order. Wind Fire (Sun Hong-Lei), a surrendered military official from the previous dynasty, sees this as an opportunity to make a fortune for himself by helping to execute the new law. Greedy, cruel, and immoral, Wind Fire ravages the North-western China, and his next goal is to attack the final frontier, Martial Village. Fu Qingzhu, a retired executioner from the previous dynasty, feels the need to put a stop to this brutality and sets out to save Bowei Fortress. He brings Wu Yuanyin and Han Zhiban from the village with him to Mount Heaven to seek help from Master Shadow-Glow, a hermit who is a master of swords and leads a group of disciples of great swordsmanship. Master Shadow-Glow agrees to help, and orders four of his best disciples to go. Together with Chu Zhaonan, Yang Yunchong, Mulong, and Xin Longzi, the SEVEN SWORDS is formed and their heroic journey begins. As they lead the entire village to the road of a safer place, they begin to encounter mysterious confusion. Food and water is poisoned, and trails of escape are marked with signs leading the enemy to them. They soon realize that there is an undercover spy, and the SEVEN SWORDS must identify him/her before Wind Fire's army gets to them. Between this narrow gap of life and death, the situation is further complicated by the blossoms of love.

The Hunt for Red October

This was another good suspense/action movie with Sean Conery, but I decided to watch this movie because it was writtin by one of my favourite authours Tom Clancy, when it comes to war or just military stories, Tom Clancy knows how to make it sound good. This was actually my first Tom Clancy movie... I read most of this books including "The Hunt for Red October" I just didn't watch the movie until now because I didn't expect much of it.. books are always bette. but boy, was I wrong.. well kindda wrong... the books are still better but the movie is still enjoyable.

if you like Submarines and missles and all that, you'll love this movie.. I know I sure did.

plot: Sean Connery stars with Alec Baldwin in John McTiernan's blockbuster The Hunt For Red October. Connery plays Marko Ramius, a senior Russian sub captain whose plans to defect are met with strong opposition by his own Soviet navy, and American misconceptions of his intentions. Baldwin plays CIA analyst Jack Ryan, the one man who sees the defection, and must convince most of the American navy he is correct. The action climaxes with an amazing naval battle, but who will win The Hunt for Red October?

Carlito's Way

This movie is truly a classic... good story, great acting, and great action.... pretty much everything you need to get a good gangster movie... Al Pacino is a great actor... this movie was one of the best gangster movies I ever seen since Scarface... Note: this movie was directed by the same guy who directed Scarface.

It wasn't as bloody as most of the action movies I've seen, but It didn't really need it, and there's a good msg in the movie too... the tagline is pretty much "bad guys never win"... I would really recommand this movie to all action fans.

plot: A Puerto Rican ex-con pledges to stay away from his former drug dealing ways but finds himself being dragged back by his past connections and the naive machinations of his lawyer and best friend. Hoping to raise enough money to get away from New York, Carlito Brigante takes on the job of running a nightclub, renews an affair with a dancer but old associates and old instincts suck him back into a world of violence and mistrust.

Cry Wolf

In my opinion this movie wasn't that great. I mean, I thought the storyline was bizzare and smart at the same time.. but everything about the movie was way too predictible. The acting wasn't all that great either... I mean the only one that did some decent acting was the rock star Bon Jovi, who plays the professor in this movie.

This movie could of been a lot better, but actually I didn't expect much from a horror movie that's rated PG. The ending pretty muched destroyed the movie... yeah that's the thing about Horror movies, it's always the ending that messes it up.

I'm not saying that all PG horror movies are bad, there are a few good ones like "The Ring" and "The Grudge" but this wasn't what I expected. This is more of a teen horror movie thing. I mean in the teather I saw a few kids that were probably not even 12 yet.

If you're a horror fan, I would recommand you to stay away from this one. It's not really scary at all.. there are a few scene that'll maybe make you jump, but nothing really speical. I would stick to my rated "R" horror movies.

plot: Nobody believes a liar - even when they're telling the truth. When a young woman is found murdered, a group of local high school students decide to further scare their classmates by spreading online rumors that a serial killer called "The Wolf" is on the loose. By describing "The Wolf's" next victims, the students' game is to see how many people they can convince - and if anyone will uncover the lie. But when the described victims actually do start turning up dead, suddenly no one knows where the lies end and the truth begins. As someone or something begins hunting the students themselves, the game turns terrifyingly real.
